I’m Teresa Youngblood, and I’m running for City Council because I believe our
community deserves a leader who listens, understands, and acts with integrity. As a
lifelong resident of Ward 1, I’ve seen firsthand what makes our ward unique—and what
needs to change.
My goal is to bring fresh ideas and practical solutions to the table that
will move us forward and bring back a community feel.
With a background in Community Development and being an entrepreneur, I am
committed to making our community better and prosperous for everyone. From
improving public services to supporting local businesses, my focus will always be on the
people I represent.
I believe in transparency, accountability, and the power of collaboration. I’m not just
running for office; I’m running to be your voice in local government, working alongside
you to build a brighter future for all.

About
Teresa is a dedicated wife, mother and community member, with a strong commitment to community service, education, and family. She has lived in Ward 1 all her life and has been an active member of the community, focusing on various community initiatives. With a background in Business and Community Development, Teresa brings more than 25 years of experience in leadership, government, and problem-solving abilities to the table.
Teresa holds a Degree in Business Management from The University of Southern MS, where she also worked as the Culinary /Conference Coordinator and assistant department chair until after Hurricane Katrina. She also has several community planning certifications that will assist her in representing this role effectively.
Outside of politics, Teresa enjoys spending time with family and friends, soul line dancing and kayaking. She is a member of her church choir and is dedicated to creating a better future for Ward #1.
